About Embassy

During the visit of H.E. Mr. Anand Sharma, Minister of State of External Affairs in 2007 to Guatemala, Governments of India and Guatemala decided to establish Embassies in India and Guatemala respectively. The office of the Embassy of India in Guatemala was opened on December 18, 2009.

This Embassy started rendering all consular services with effect from October 21, 2010.

The Chancery Building was formally inaugurated by H.E. Mr. E. Ahamed, Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs on April 29th, 2011 during his visit to Guatemala.
